Comprehensive Polymeric Barrier System Implemented to Effectively Increase Personnel Safety
The Problem
Wincanton is dedicated to maintaining a proactive approach to workplace safety. The warehouse barrier system in place had large baseplates that protruded, creating a significant trip hazard.
Additionally, the forklift training area required a more effective solution to prevent forklift arms from sliding under the existing barriers. Without an effective barrier system, the risk of accidents and serious injuries increases, putting personnel at unnecessary risk.
The Solution
The solution involved replacing the existing barriers with compact and effective polymeric d-flexx barriers along the walkway. These barriers were easy to install and highly impact-resistant to forklift collisions, offering excellent protection for personnel.
The innovative polymeric design is flexible and can withstand multiple impacts without needing replacement. Additional polymeric d-flexx kerb barriers were installed under each barrier section in the forklift training area, providing an effective safety measure to prevent injuries from forklift lifting arms.
The Result
The new polymeric barrier system significantly reduced the risk to personnel. The sleek, compact design of the barriers ensures safer use of the walkway and minimizes trip hazards.
The d-flexx barriers are impact-resistant and flexible, making them a cost-effective safety solution that can withstand multiple collisions. Their bright, colourful design enhances visibility for personnel operating material-handling equipment and forklifts.
The installation of the d-Flexx kerb barriers greatly reduced the risk of injury from forklift lifting arms, effectively preventing them from entering the personnel walkway.

The d-flexx Traffic Barrier Mono Plus system is designed to protect medium to high traffic areas. It is a combination of of the d-flexx Traffic Barrier & Pedestrian Barrier.
Due to the additional heavy pipe in the lower part of the traffic barrier plus, pedestrian areas can be protected additionally.

d-flexx Swing Gate with Wheel
Swing doors can be positioned at any point within a barrier system and due to the fact that they can be ‘handed’ in multiple ways, they provide controlled exit points that force the user to stop whilst they open them.
The hydraulic action hinge keeps the gate in the closed position and dampens the ‘slamming’ action, and the gate is available in multiple widths, to suit every application

d-flexx Kerb Barrier
The flexible d-flexx kerb barrier is the ideal product to protect walls and assembly lines from collisions in low ground areas.
The round shape allows the colliding forklift to bounce of the barrier, therefore absorbing the force. It functions as a guide throughout the installed area.
