The Problem
Inside the factory at Etex Ireland Ltd, the lack of clear pedestrian markings meant the facility was lacking any safety measures for delineation and separation of warehouse hazards.
Personnel could roam unguided around forklift routes, increasing the safety risk within the facility.
The numerous blind spots and unmarked crossing points further increased the risk, as well as the factory floor’s appearance requiring an aesthetic improvement.
The Solution
The implemented solution involved grinding and levelling the factory floor with screed, followed by the application of ‘FloorCote’, a new high-build epoxy floor coating system.
The work was completed during a scheduled shutdown period, ensuring minimal impact on operations.
The resulting walkway was not only clearly marked but also featured a clean, level, and glossy finish, significantly improving safety and aesthetics.
The Result
The newly defined walkway provided a safe path for personnel, effectively warning both forklift operators and pedestrians of crossing points.
Following the installation, the factory area looked much more professional and aesthetically pleasing.
The clear segregation achieved has greatly enhanced overall safety and operational efficiency within the facility.
