The Problem
Saica Pack Livingstone stands as a new state-of-the-art facility, demanding equally advanced safety solutions.
Located at the ‘waste’ area of the facility, the presence of MHE (material handling equipment) movement presented a collision risk to anyone who entered the area.
Saica’s safety vision is to minimize risk where ever possible with solutions aligned to the technology level in the new facility, they were hesitant to implement a safety solution that would require on-going maintenance and for maximum visibility to personnel and MHE operators.
Traditional marking solutions in this waste area would simply look tired and not visible within a few months due to the area environment.
The Solution
WSS delivered a tailored visual safety transformation, firstly featuring a comprehensive site survey using cutting-edge DigiScan360 technology, allowing for remote and precise measurements with zero site disruption and the client having the ability to get a faster decision with multiple remote decision makers.
Following the site survey, WSS recommended Quasar Visual Safety Technology, which, in this case, is a series of Signum projected safety markings that gives the client excellent durability and brightness in this waste sorting environment.
These innovative safety signs eliminated maintenance concerns, with a robust and long-lasting solution that requires minimal maintenance, whilst staying constantly bright and visible to all personnel.
The Result
The impact was immediate and impressive, with the implemented Projected Safety Signage achieving maximum visibility in a challenging waste sorting environment.
These new safety markings provide clear, unmistakable safety guidance and zoning for both MHE operators and personnel.
