Polymeric barriers are simply a blend of several types of plastic materials.

After extensive research, we have focused on using a material called polyethylene.

Our plastic barrier systems are made of polyethylene because it exhibits specific characteristics that make it the most suitable plastic material.

Why Polyethylene?

Polyethylene remains flexible across a wide range of temperatures, from well below freezing up to the maximum temperature you would find in any warehouse or facility.

This makes it suitable for a wide range of applications, from external areas like airfields to internal cold stores, and even heavy manufacturing facilities where warmer temperatures may be the norm. Throughout this temperature range, the material will not snap upon impact.

Additionally, polyethylene has self-healing properties. This means that if the material is distorted through impact, it gradually returns to its original shape without needing replacement or weakening over time.

Our barriers are manufactured from virgin polyethylene. If any recycled material is used in its manufacture, we cannot guarantee its lifetime performance. This is a critical factor when protecting workers from harm. When the material reaches the end of its life, it is fully recyclable.

The material is also entirely through-coloured and UV stable, making it suitable for all applications. It looks good without any painting or other maintenance required.

Modular and Cost-Effective

The system is entirely modular and can be easily changed or altered without any special skill set requirements, such as welding or hot cutting. Therefore, we encourage the consideration of these modern barrier systems, as the lifetime cost can be considerably less compared to traditional metal barrier systems.
