Safety System Maintenance & Support

Installation is not the end of the SAFER journey. WSS™ provides ongoing maintenance and support for safety systems installed by WSS™, helping customers protect the performance of their equipment and identify issues before they become larger problems. Our maintenance support is designed to help customers keep their installed safety systems operating effectively over the longer term.

Review. Maintain. Improve.

The WSS™ SAFER journey does not stop when a system is installed. The Review stage is about understanding whether the solution continues to perform as intended, what has changed on the site and whether further action is required. Maintenance supports that process by helping customers identify:

  • Wear or damage
  • Developing faults
  • Changes in site conditions
  • System performance issues
  • Components requiring attention
  • Opportunities to improve or expand the existing solution
STEP 1StudyUnderstand the site, operating environment, traffic movement, people, risks and existing controls.
STEP 2AlignAgree the most suitable direction with the customer and relevant stakeholders.
STEP 3FormulateDevelop the layout, system design, phasing and implementation approach.
STEP 4ExecuteInstall, test and hand over the agreed solution.
STEP 5ReviewReturn to the site, review performance and identify any further improvements or support required.

This creates a more complete approach to workplace safety than simply installing equipment and walking away.

Keep Your Safety Systems Working as Intended

Workplace safety equipment operates in demanding environments. Over time, systems can be affected by impact, wear, contamination, environmental conditions, operational changes or accidental damage. Regular inspection and maintenance can help identify issues earlier and provide better visibility of the condition of the installed system. Maintenance can help customers:

  • Identify developing faults
  • Reduce unexpected failures
  • Improve system reliability
  • Maintain system performance
  • Protect their investment
  • Reduce reactive call-outs
  • Understand when repair or replacement may be required

Planned and Reactive Support

Depending on the system and the agreed scope, WSS™ maintenance support may include visual inspections, functional checks, planned maintenance visits, fault finding, diagnostics, system adjustment, recommissioning, repairs, replacement of damaged or failed components, condition reporting, recommendations for remedial work and technical support. The exact level of support will depend on the equipment installed and the agreed maintenance requirement.

Ongoing Support for Active Safety Systems

Active safety systems may require ongoing inspection, diagnostics, adjustment or recommissioning to continue operating correctly. Systems involving sensors, projectors, cameras, control equipment and automated logic can be affected by changes to the site, equipment positioning, damage or operational conditions. Where WSS™ has installed the system, our team can support the customer in assessing performance and identifying any maintenance or remedial work required.

Move From Reactive Repairs to Planned Support

Customers do not need to wait for a system to fail before asking for support. WSS™ can discuss planned maintenance arrangements for systems we have installed, providing a more structured approach to ongoing inspection and upkeep. Depending on the agreed requirement, planned maintenance may include scheduled visits, inspections, functional checks, condition reporting and recommendations for any remedial work.

Support When Something Is Not Working Properly

If a WSS-installed safety system develops a fault or stops operating as expected, our team can help assess the issue and identify the appropriate next action. Depending on the system, this may include:

  • Fault assessment
  • On-site diagnostics
  • Identifying damaged or failed components
  • Adjustment
  • Recommissioning
  • Repair
  • Recommendations for replacement equipment where required

Clearer Visibility of System Condition

Good maintenance should give the customer visibility of what has been checked and what needs attention. Where appropriate, WSS™ can provide maintenance information covering what was inspected, what issues were identified, what work was completed, the condition of the system and any recommended follow-up work. This creates a clearer record of the ongoing condition of the installed safety solution.
