Professional Safety System Installation

WSS™ provides professional installation across our full range of workplace safety solutions. From barriers, gates and line marking through to projected markings, sensors, automation and active safety systems, every installation is planned around the individual site, operational environment and agreed safety requirements. We do not simply fit products. We install solutions designed to work properly within the customer’s real operation.

From Safety Audit to Installation

Installation should not start with a product. The WSS™ process begins by understanding what is happening on the site, where the operational risks are and what the customer is trying to achieve. Once the right direction has been agreed, the solution can be properly designed, planned and installed. Our approach follows the wider WSS™ SAFER journey:

STEP 1StudyUnderstand the site, operating environment, traffic movement, people, risks and existing controls.
STEP 2AlignAgree the most suitable direction with the customer and relevant stakeholders.
STEP 3FormulateDevelop the layout, system design, phasing and implementation approach.
STEP 4ExecuteInstall, test and hand over the agreed solution.
STEP 5ReviewReturn to the site, review performance and identify any further improvements or support required.

Installation Across the WSS™ Safety Range

WSS™ provides installation across a wide range of workplace safety solutions, including:

  • Pedestrian and vehicle barriers
  • Safety gates and access solutions
  • Line marking and pedestrian routes
  • Projected safety markings
  • Traffic management and segregation systems
  • Sensors and detection systems
  • Active warning systems
  • AI-based safety systems
  • Control and automation systems

Every project is assessed individually so the installation method and system design fit the actual site environment.

Installation That Works With Your Operation

A good safety solution needs to work in the real operating environment, not just look right on a drawing. Before installation, WSS™ considers factors such as:

  • Site access
  • Vehicle and pedestrian movement
  • Existing infrastructure
  • Working areas
  • Installation sequencing
  • Operational disruption
  • Traffic flow
  • System positioning
  • Electrical and technical requirements where applicable
  • Handover requirements

This allows us to plan the installation properly and reduce unnecessary disruption to the customer’s operation.

Specialist Installation for Active Safety Systems

Active safety systems often require more than simply mounting equipment. Depending on the solution, installation may involve sensors, projectors, cameras, control equipment, system logic, electrical preparation, commissioning and documentation. WSS™ considers the complete system rather than treating each component in isolation. Depending on the project, this may include:

  • Electrical installation requirements
  • Sensor positioning
  • Control equipment
  • System logic
  • System integration
  • Testing
  • Commissioning
  • Wiring and system information
  • Operating and maintenance documentation

The exact requirements are confirmed during the project scoping and design process.

Installed. Checked. Handed Over Properly.

Where applicable, WSS™ tests and commissions installed systems before handover. Customers are provided with the relevant information required to understand the installed solution and how it should be operated and maintained. For active safety systems, this may include operating and maintenance documentation, wiring information, system guidance and support details. The aim is to make sure the customer understands what has been installed and what happens next.
